WHY DOES THE MOVER ASK FOR AN INVENTORY WHEN I CALL TO GET A PRICE?
You wouldn't call a plumber and ask them to do repairs for you without letting them know what was wrong, correct? You wouldn't expect a surgeon to perform surgery without knowing what problem he was solving. We want to arrive prepared to move your home safely to your next location.
If we arrive and you have a baby grand piano and we weren't aware of it, we likely won't have a piano board. There are many items of equipment available to movers to get the job done and it is impossible to have EVERY PIECE OF SPECIALTY EQUIPMENT on the truck and still have room for your furniture. So knowing what we are moving helps us to be prepared.
Yes, there are standard items we will have such as pads, box dollies, appliance dollies, furniture dollies, stretch wrap and tape. But things like piano boards, safe dollies, ladders (for hoisting) etc need to be added to the moving truck.
IF AN INVENTORY IS NOT PROVIDED, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE WE WILL HAVE THE PROPER RESOURCES ON MOVING DAY, WHICH INCLUDES TRUCKS, LABOR AND EQUIPMENT.
WITHOUT AN INVENTORY, WE WILL DEFAULT TO 1 TRUCK AND 3 MEN WITH STANDARD MOVING EQUIPMENT.
WE WILL PERFORM SERVICES NO LONGER THAN 8 HOURS FOR MORNING MOVES AND 4 HOURS FOR AFTERNOON MOVES.
UNLESS A PACK HAS BEEN SCHEDULED, WE WILL ASSUME THAT ALL ITEMS HAVE BEEN BOXED FOR MOVING.
WE DO NOT PACK ON MOVE DAY.
