Who doesn't want a deal these days? Especially when fuel is high, groceries are high, and interest rates are climbing??
This is the FIRST in a series of tips on how to save money when moving from someone who has been doing it every day for 18 years. Not some ghostwriter or Fivrr blog writer!
First of all, moving is a daunting task! It is the 3rd most stressful life event behind death and divorce! So there is a lot of emotion tangled up in moving.
Secondly, moving isn't always for a happy reason. Sometimes it is because of a death or divorce. So having a mover that is able to navigate the emotions that come with each situation, is helpful for everyone.
Finally, BEING PREPARED! I can't tell you how many times over the past 18 years we have walked into a house and nothing is prepared. It literally looks like they woke up and said, "Let's move today!" These are people that have been scheduled for weeks or months. But life gets in the way. I get that. The best laid plans of mice & men, right??
Plan your packing and preparing. Schedule it. Get help. Do a box a day if that is what it takes. If it is too emotional, call the mover and schedule packers. Pretending that it will magically get done, doesn't work. Trust me!
I hope this nugget gets you into understanding how your move can be smoother and cheaper! Check out my other blog posts for more moving tips!
